Israel has mistreated the Palestinians. In the early days of Israel's history Israeli troops massacred whole villages of Palestinians – the massacre at Dair Yasin is only one example. Israel's actions can only be described as ethnic cleansing. These massacres continue – many Lebanese and Gaza civilians died (including 100's of children) in the recent Israeli aggressions. Supporting Israel is not in America's interest. The whole Moslem world, together with non-Moslems who believe in human rights, are outraged because of our bias toward Israel.
We went to war with Iraq largely because Israel wanted us to. Many U.S. officials agree with this statement, among them are Mideast Envoy Anthony Zinni and Senator Hollings. Iraq threatened Israel, not the U.S.
Israel has received billions in government welfare from the U.S. taxpayer. We have given Israel far more aid than we have given to any other country.
In spite of our largess Israel has spied on us and sold arms to our opponents, including Communist China.
I am a patriotic American and I think that our current subservience to Israel is a disgrace. This is our biggest foreign policy problem right now and it needs to be fixed.
